California does not have one greenhouse climate. Snow and cold shape the plan around Tahoe and Mammoth; the coast brings wet winters and marine fog; inland valleys can sit in summer heat for weeks. At Truckee Tahoe Airport, NOAA normals put the average January low near 13°F and the average July high near 85°F.
A coastal gardener and a Sierra grower may both want more months of harvest, but they are not buying the same climate response. The coastal project may devote more attention to humidity and air movement; the mountain project may put structural criteria, winter light, and supplemental heat first. Inland valleys can make shade and summer airflow the governing concern.
